Best time: Dec - April (Aug - Dec also possible, but often clouds)

 

With public transport to the turnoff at the main road. Here, Jeeps wait to bring you short before the refugio.

• 2 days:
• 1st day: By Jeep 200m below the refugio. From here about 1 hour to the refugio. There is an open hut, short before the end of the road, where you can sleep. Mattress and sleeping bag. No water!
• 2nd day: 5-8 hours to the summit. 1100m

• Equipment can be rented in Riobamba, Baños, Latacunga and Quito.
