The first part of this route is on a beautiful road towards Tosor Pass which you leave shortly before the pass. The second part is much more challenging with a long pushing passage to Juuku Pass.
The first 50km from Naryn are a bit bumpy, because there is still traffic here from time to time. But then it gets quiet. It first passes through an alpine valley with a narrow canyon. Above the tree line the valleys become wider and more open. Especially the part after leaving the Tosor Pass road up to the Arabel Pass is very beautiful.
A short detour to a 4000m pass right next to the route...
After the Arabel Pass you briefly cross a good road. Then the route consists of a barely perceptible track. It is a long pushing passage through a lot of swamp and over bumpy meadows. At the long lake before the pass you can ride on a single trail. The descent from Juuku Pass is pretty wild. It is a loose heap of big boulders over which you have to carry/push your bike. Not completely danger-free... Further down the valley becomes alpine with a beautiful forest and great mountains in the background. Great descent to the Issyk-Kul lake.
One or two Yurt camps along the way, but nothing else.
